Testing, testing…is this thing on? If you’re local to the Oregon/Washington area, I felt it necessary to alert you to some great stuff, in our own back yard! Do you love some good junk? Old farm stuff? One-of-a-kind pieces? Do you have plans today? YOU DO NOW!!
Yesterday was amazing. It all began at the Junk Bonanza Show at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield, Washington. The show continues all day today and tomorrow. It’s $10 to get in (cash only) and there are some fantastic vendors. I found this darling old rustic ladder, and I can’t wait to find the perfect spot for it. There were piles of treasures everywhere and by the time I got there late in the afternoon, the crowd had died down quite a bit. Even though there were so many fun things to see, I somehow walked out with only a couple little items. Maybe I should have had a Snickers, because that’s definitely not like me. 😉 Ever have those days when you just can’t commit?
After the Junk Bonanza, my hubby and I decided to drive into Battleground, Washington to see a movie. We missed our turn for the theater, and boy am I glad we did. We ended up driving right past a shop I’ve heard about for a long time (and always wanted to check out), Rusty Glamour. Turns out Battleground is full of adorable little shops…it was making me crazy that we didn’t have time to check them all out, but I’ll take what I can get. My sweet husband saw that look in my eye, turned the car around, and we headed back to Rusty Glamour…Oh man, buckle up. Are you ready to hear about this goodness?
Let me set the stage. We only had about 15 minutes if we wanted to make our movie. Power shopping? Oh, I’ve got this. 😉
We walked in and my mouth dropped open.
So. Much. Cuteness. So. Little. Time.
I think I yelled something at the sweet girl at the counter, like “Ummm, this is the CUTEST shop. EVER!” Who knows what I said. I was officially under the spell of Rusty Glamour! Right away, I spotted so many must-haves. Think industrial-y, farmy, rustic-y, chippy, chalkboard-y, heart eyes for days kind of must-haves. And it just kept getting better. The prices were so good, I ended up with quite a pile! (I’ll show you more on that coming soon.)
This. This is the glorious scene I was taking in just inside the door. In this pic the lights make it look like the glory of Heaven was shining down on this spot…well not to exaggerate, but I’m pretty sure angels were singing. One of the treasures I brought home is that “Unit 47” barrel-y thing. I have no idea what it is, but I DO know it will be so cute in my house somewhere. We ran up and down the aisles, power shopping like a couple of crazies, loaded up the car, and made it to the movie, just in time (We saw “the Intern”…sooooo good!!).
So, grab your girlfriends, jump in the car, and hit these fun stops! And if you are lucky and you have more than the 15 minutes I had in Battleground, tell me all about the other cute shops in town! I can’t wait to go back!
