Junkin’ Adventure

Once upon a time two friends drove down to Medford, Oregon on a sunny Friday morning. They found some great stuff. They drove home.

Ohhhh you guys know me better than that. I have to share DETAILS with you, because it was so amazing! Have you ever been to the Barnstormer’s Vintage Fair? This was my first time, and do you want to know what I REALLY think?…..wait for it…..PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR FOR NEXT YEAR. Like now.

So yesterday morning, my sweet friend Anne (@pedalhomeinteriors on Instagram…are you following her? SHE. IS. AMAZING.) picked me up, bright and early. She had the console of her SUV stocked with our favorite road trip snacks, and we chatted all the way down to Medford, about a 4 hour drive. We were so excited to see what the Barnstormer sale had in store…how many vendors would they have? What would the prices be like? Would this trip be worth it? We talked about what we were looking for, and then we chatted about a million other things, as friends do. We rolled into town and stopped for a quick lunch.

Yep. That’s right. In-N-Out Burger. Totally worth fighting the crowds (there’s only ONE of these in allllll of Oregon).

And then. The sale.

Here we are in line…oh, the anticipation! It was a super hot afternoon in the Medford area. Summer at its best. We waited about 40 minutes for the doors to open, and then, IT. WAS. ON. Bring on the junk! The farmhouse treasures! The one-of-a-kind goodness that is what Barnstormer’s is ALL about!

I have to say, some things totally surprised me. The prices were AMAZING. Great bargains, fun, unexpected finds, and the sweetest people. We made our way through the entire sale, bought some great stuff, took a huge load to the car, and then did another pass through the booths. Once our initial “frenzied first trip through” was over, we went around again and saw things we had missed the first time. We made a few more key purchases, and headed out to get some dinner.

Soooo? Want a little preview of what we found?

Here are a few of the goodies we brought home. Most of my items will be coming with me to my Pop-Up Shop at Garden Gallery Iron Works in Hubbard, Oregon on Saturday, Aug. 20, 10am-noon. You are going to LOVE this stuff!!! (Trust me, I’m having a hard time parting with ALL of it.)

This morning, we got up and headed for home…when THIS caught our eye…IMG_5851

I mean, we HAD to stop, right?? We ended up hitting a few fun garage sales on our way home.

Oh man, these kinds of adventures with friends are the best. We talked and laughed LATE into the night, did some awesome shopping, and loved every second of our Junkin’ Adventure. Can’t wait ’til next year! See you there!
